7 Ways to Get to Disney World from the Orlando Airport

There are so many details that go into a Disney World vacation. If you’re flying, one key aspect is how you’re going to get to Disney World from the Orlando Airport.

Here are seven options to help you kick off your trip on the right note!

Mr. And Mrs. Potato Head

Mears Connect

I’m not going to draw this out. Mears Connect is my preferred way to get to Disney World from the Orlando Airport.

Once upon a time, there was a motorcoach called the Magical Express. The Magical Express was free transportation from MCO to all Disney World Resort Hotels for Disney World Hotel guests.

But while Disney paid for the Magical Express, they actually weren’t the operators of it. They outsourced this service to the Mears Transportation company.

So when the Magical Express was discontinued in January of 2022, Mears Transportation picked up the torch and continued doing what they’ve been doing; transporting people between Disney World and the Orlando Airport.

Their prices are reasonable ($16 for adults, one way at the time of writing this), they run consistently, and are available 24/7, so no matter what time your flight gets in, you’re covered.

You’ll likely have to make some stops to drop off some other guests, but they’re affordable and reliable.

It’s also worth noting that they only go to the Disney World Resort hotels and a few additional hotels nearby. If you’re curious about staying at a Disney World Hotel, check out our resort posts!

You can visit their website for more information and to book.

Lyft/Uber

Ride shares are a great option if you’re looking for a more direct route, though these are likely going to be a bit pricey. But if you’re looking to make the most of your park time and want to get right to Disney, it’s something you can budget for.

Lyft and Uber do operate on Disney Property, so if you have the apps, you’re good to go.

The price for this can vary between $45-$80 dollars before tip.

Car rental

If you really want to be in control of your transportation, you can absolutely rent a car and drive yourself to Disney World.

This might be a good option if you plan to leave Disney property during your stay, or if you just want to skip Disney Transportation and be in the driver’s seat (literally).

Disney World Hotel guests get free parking at their resort and at the parks, so if you’re staying on property you’d be entitled to these perks.

Minnie Van

If you’re staying at a Deluxe resort or club level room, you might consider taking a Minnie Van. Disney has partnered with Lyft to offer this service.

The standard Minnie Van will fit 6 people. They also have wheelchair accessible vehicles available upon request.

If you’d like to book a Minnie Van, you can do so as early as 60 days prior to your trip and as late as 2 days prior to your trip. Call (407) 828-3500 to schedule airport service.

At the time of writing this, it costs $199 plus tax.

Taxi

You can, of course, always take a taxi. Finding a taxi at an airport is pretty standard. MCO estimates it would cost between $50 and $70.

This might be a good option if you’ve got a larger group (as in, enough to fill the car), as it will take the cost per person down.

Limousine

If you really want to ride in style, you can take a limo to Disney World! This wasn’t actually something I thought of, but when I was looking up the cost for a taxi, MCO’s ground transportation page lists it as an option for getting you to Disney World.

And I figured if they’re giving it to you as an option, I might as well too! According to them, it’ll cost about between $50 and $90 one way.

LYNX Bus

I’m going to be completely honest with you here. I’ve never tried this and I have no plans to try this. I didn’t even know this was an option until I was doing some research to write this post.

This is an option that will appeal to some people out there, so I’m going to tell you about it. But just know, I’m not speaking from experience here.

You can take a public LYNX bus to Disney Springs. It should cost you about $4. You’re looking for the 311 bus route.

Once you get to Disney Springs, you’ll likely have to take a Lyft/Uber/taxi to your hotel if you aren’t within walking distance. You aren’t permitted to take luggage on Disney Transportation.

If anyone has tried this, please tell us about your experience in the comments!
